About Me
Hoda Elgabali is an Egyptian-Canadian contemporary painter. Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and with roots in Egypt, Hoda also lived for a time in Kuwait. She has a diverse and privileged background, a constant traveler with affiliations to the East and West.
Hoda obtained her Master’s in Applied Art from Helwan University in Cairo and a Diploma in Animation from the Vancouver Film School in British Columbia. She works full-time as a painter and is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her inspiration is capturing the energy of nature in art through personal expression while developing her skills, evolving her voice and methodology.
My mission is to boost human spirit, establishing an uplifting connection of souls with the audience that invigorates each individual in a relationship with the external environment. I appeal to the positive in our surroundings and our interactions with them. I aim to directly affect audience perceptions and feelings affirmatively, subconsciously assuring our appreciation of artifacts and their meaning to us in the world. Each intensity of color generates a specific energetic and nutritive effect.
Most of my paintings are extensions of nature, and others are inspired by AI (Artificial Intelligence backgrounds). Furthermore, I want to create authentic works that are durable, even eternal, because of the highest quality of painting materials. Each work is one-of-a-kind.
